The "cruiser tank" is an obsolete portion of British tank doctrine from the Interwar period, which called for a large number of light and fast vehicles to outflank and engage enemy tanks, as opposed to the heavy tanks that focused on supporting infantry.
Since I liked parts of the concept, I decided that in my Sci-fi work the term "Cruiser tank" would refer to any tank-like vehicle that uses wheels instead of tracks. Wheeled vehicles are generally capable of higher speeds than tracked vehicles, at the expense of their ability to navigate rough terrain.
The Fighter is based on a previous 3d model for an alien ship, creating a human-made design with a similar profile.
